Weather safety, seriously: The Blizzard Scale is a commentary and entertainment site. Its ratings are derived from public National Weather Service data but are not an official forecast and not a substitute for official warnings. For decisions about your safety, always rely on the National Weather Service (weather.gov), local emergency officials, and NOAA Weather Radio — never on a site whose mascot is a man's face on a slider.

Use of the site

You're welcome to use The Blizzard Scale for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Don't scrape it at volume, hammer the endpoints, attempt to break or misuse it, or pass its ratings off as official meteorology.

Data & accuracy

Weather data comes from the National Weather Service and is presented "as is," on a best-effort basis, with the deadpan editorializing for which this site exists. It may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. No warranty of accuracy, fitness, or availability is made or implied.
